T152-5At recent meetings, DC homecare workers continued their participation in #Take15for15 actions, congratulating Massachusetts homecare workers who have won $15 as a starting salary by 2018.

Many of us also participated on and since the national day of action on April 15, when we rallied outside the Wilson Building and again at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in DC.

#Take15for15 is about taking 15 minutes out of your day to #FightFor15 and raise awareness of our movement to win higher wages and union rights. It’s about home care workers standing up, where we are, with our clients or families, and making our voices heard.

If you are interested in participating in #Take15for15, call the DC homecare hotline at 800-956-8918. We will be taking more photos that can be shared on social media at our upcoming meetings scheduled for Thursday, July 23, 2015, 6-8 pm and Saturday, July 25, 2105, 10a-noon. Both meetings will be held at the Lamond-Riggs Neighborhood Library, Meeting Room 2, 5401 South Dakota Avenue NE, Washington, DC 20011. The Metro Station is  Fort Totten.
